What can GIGtech offer?
GIGtech is able to E-Commerce enable your site and allow your visitors to securely pay for services or products online in real-time.

Who does GIGtech use as their E-Commerce provider?
GIGtech makes use of uses the MyGate and IVERI payment system (which is Nedbank's Internet Payment Gateway). WorldPay is also good alternative should you require multi-currency transactions.

I don't have a MyGate account. What now?
Simply, all that is required of you is to purcashe one of their packages and request a merchant account at FNB. MyGate's plans are in progress to facilitate merchant banking accounts with Standard Bank, ABSA and Nedbank in the near future The merchant account only applies if you decide to choose any package other than MyGate Express. Your money is then instantly transferred to any bank account in South Africa.

  • What do I have to do and how long does it take to set-up a MyGate account?
    All it takes is choosing a package that best suits your requirements, the completion of a form (and a wait of about a week for the bank to set-up the account). MyGate offers tailored made packages which have been designed to suit small to large ecommerce companies. When making use of a MyGate package, other than the Express package, all that's required is to apply for a merchant ID with FNB. For this, you need to complete and fax the MyGate application form at http://www.mygate.co.za

  • So, what are the cost implications?
    The e-commerce the payment gateway from GIGtech only costs R50.00 per month. Please remember you will need to include the purchase of e-commerce functionality if you have not already done so. Also, MyGate then charges you R150.00 pm to R600.00 per month for the banking section of the transaction. Please note that MyGate takes 6% settlement for transactions, on the Express Package, rather than an autorization fee (which is imposed on their other packages). If you are already a merchant with a large turnover, it would be best to make use of the MyGate 600 package otherwise it might be possible to negotiate a better fee with the payment gateway provider. MyGate also offers other additional solutions and services such as automated credit card billing, batch uploads, fraud detection, and sms notification.

    • Automated Credit Card Billing
      ACCB allows monthly reoccurring debits for the same amount to a credit card. The functionality allows for you to pass through amount, date of debit and period in which the credit card is to be debited.

    • Batch Uploads
      The Batch Upload functionality allows for ecommerce companies to process mutlitple credit card payments though uploading a file via MyGate's merchant interface. MyGate stores these batch files allowing you to view history through the Merchant Interface.

    • SMS (NotifyMe)
      This enables merchants to receive summarized notification via SMS or email of credit card activity which is linked their e-commerce site through the MyGate payment gateway.

    The typical costs are therefore made up of the following: Your hosting contract with GIGtech, Your payment gateway with GIGtech (R50.00 pm). Your service from MyGate is R150.00 pm to R600.00, on a contract period from 1 month, 12 months or 24 months depending on the package chosen. MyGate does levy a set-up fee of R200 to R250.

I don't have a Nedbank account. What now?
No problem! You only need a Nedbank merchant account. Your money is then instantly transferred to any bank account in South Africa.

  • What do I have to do and how long does it take to set-up an IVERI account?
    All it takes is the completion of a form and a wait of about a week for the bank to set-up the account. You do not need to be a "mega-business" with a million Rand's plus worth of turnover to qualify for the service! When making use of IVERI with Nedbank, the only restriction is that the bank will not issue a merchant number to a company or sole trader that has a judgment against their name. You are even able to apply for a merchant number on your own name without having a registered business. For this, you will need to complete the IVERI application form at http://www.nedlink.co.za

  • So, what are the cost implications?
    The e-commerce package (the payment gateway) from GIGtech costs a mere R50.00 per month. Please remember you will need to include the purchase of e-commerce functionality. Also, IVERI then charges you R300.00 per month for the banking section of the transaction. Please note that Nedbank takes 5% of all transactions which is the standard speed-point fee. You will be able to negotiate a better fee if you are already a merchant with a large turnover. There are no other hidden costs. IVERI also offers batch processing much like MyGate.

    The typical costs are therefore made up of the following: Your hosting contract with GIGtech, Your payment gateway with GIGtech costs R50.00. If development of a shopping cart is required, only then is a n additional amount imposed. Your service from IVERI is R300.00 pm with a 5% levy on all transactions. (Standard speed point fee) IVERI does levy a set-up fee which varies form time to time.

I want a SSL certificate on my site, what costs apply?
If you need a SSL certificate on your website, you will need to get a SSL certificate. We will be able to provide you with a SSL certificate at a price of R750 per year. This certificate will be issued by RapidSSL. You will also need a dedicated IP address. To have a dedicated IP address with us will cost you nothing per month since we will incur the cost of it for you. To host and make use of the SSL certificate will cost you R30.00 per month.

What do I get from GIGtech?
We provide the basics and the rest will be up to you. Once you are set-up, you'll be able to handle basic credit card transactions on your site without a shopping basket. You'll then select your own shopping basket if you require one. GIGtech is unfortunately not responsible for the integration of your shopping basket.

You receive the following for R50.00 per month:

  1. Use of GIGtech's secure certificate.
  2. Use of the prefered payment gateway.
  3. Set-up of your basic processing.

I want to E-Commerce enable my site, so how do I get started?

  1. Go to http://www.mygate.co.za or http://www.nedlink.co.za and complete the application form.
  2. Wait for the appropriate company you subscribed with to contact you. They will provide you with merchant details once your application is successful.
  3. Email the information you receive to support@gigtech.co.za and ask us to set-up the default payment gateway. This may take about 2 days once we have received your details.
  4. GIGtech will then invoice you the additional R50.00 per month.
